Parametric Analysis of the Dynamics of Attention Variability Functioning

Abstract: The paper analyzes the dynamics of attention variability as a time-dependent process using parameters derived from a continuous performance test. The focus of the research is on two key indicators: the variability of reaction time and the variability of response duration to visual stimuli. A parametric approach is applied to examine how the passage of time affects average attentional efficiency and stability, and to determine whether these changes follow a statistically significant trend. The results show a partly expected linear pattern and reveal that mean response duration differs significantly between subjects. On this basis, a critical zone and a danger zone indicating increased risk of attention variability are identified. These findings support the relevance of parametrically modelling attention dynamics and contribute to the methodological objectification of continuous performance testing in applied research settings.
